BorderTek
AES / EEI Filing

Your ITN. Same Day.

BorderTek files your Electronic Export Information through AES — accurately, on time, every time. No ITN means your freight doesn't load. We make sure that never happens.

$10,000+ per violation for missing or incorrect EEI. We validate your data before we file — not after.

Filing Requirements

When AES Filing Is Required

The rules are specific. Missing a required filing — or filing the wrong data — carries serious penalties. We know every trigger.

💰

Shipments Over $2,500

Any commercial export valued above $2,500 per Schedule B number requires an EEI filing — no exceptions.

🔐

Export Licensed Commodities

ALL shipments requiring an export license (EAR, ITAR, or otherwise) must be filed regardless of value.

🚗

Used Vehicle Exports

All used self-propelled vehicles require AES filing regardless of value, with title documentation attached.

🌍

Routed Export Transactions

When the foreign buyer controls the freight, a Routed Export Transaction requires the USPPI to provide EEI data.

🛡️

Sanctioned & Restricted Parties

Exports to certain destinations, entities, or end-uses require filings regardless of value or commodity.

✈️

Multi-Mode Shipments

Ocean, air, highway, and rail exports each have their own filing windows — we know the deadline for every mode.

Export Compliance

Beyond the Filing

AES is the system. EEI is the data. But getting it right means knowing classification, export controls, denied parties, and license requirements before you file.

Schedule B Classification
AES uses Schedule B codes, not HTSUS. They often differ — we classify for the correct system every time.
ECCN / EAR99 Determination
Export Control Classification Number identification for dual-use goods subject to the Export Administration Regulations.
ITAR Jurisdiction
Defense articles and services on the US Munitions List require State Dept. licensing — we identify ITAR-controlled goods before filing.
Denied Party Screening
We screen USPPIs, foreign consignees, and end-users against BIS, OFAC, and State Dept. restricted party lists before every filing.
License Exceptions & Exemptions
From EAR license exceptions (NLR, LVS, GOV) to AES exemptions — we apply the right authority code so your filing clears correctly.
Post-Departure & Correction Filings
When data needs to change after filing, we coordinate AES corrections and post-departure filings to keep your records clean.
Why It Matters

Your Carrier Can't Load
Without the ITN.

The ITN isn't a formality — it's the legal clearance that allows your carrier to load export freight. A missing ITN holds cargo at the terminal. An incorrect one triggers a CBP or BIS inquiry that can escalate quickly.

BorderTek validates your shipment data — Schedule B, ECCN, value, parties — before the EEI ever hits AES. We catch problems upstream so your freight moves without interruption and your compliance record stays clean.

How It Works

Docs In. ITN Out.

02

Classification & Compliance Check

We assign the correct Schedule B code, determine ECCN/EAR99 status, and screen all parties before the EEI is submitted.

03

EEI Filed — ITN Issued

We submit to AES and return your ITN immediately upon acceptance. Your carrier gets what they need to load on time.

04

Records Retained

All EEI data and supporting documentation is retained for the required 5 years — audit-ready if CBP or BIS ever asks.
